Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day tomorrow and bless their little cotton socks but the Mother's Of Ireland are about to recieve a shed load of flowers! The Flower sellers on Grafton Street were doing a roaring trade this morning at half ten, I hope it continued for them. I much prefer to buy bunches of flowers from them than from florist shops. I've passed by these stalls and the ones on George's Street since I was a child, and Dublin would be a much poorer, greyer, duller place without them.
And watching scores of men clutching bunches of gerbia and sunflowers and roses and tulips to their bosoms is an edifying sight whatever the cause.
PS buy your cards from HALLMARK - yes, feed the evil corporation people, they're donating money to Breast Cancer for every card bought!
